With two races to go this season, Franco Colapinto appears to be coming to the end of his cameo with Williams Racing.
Williams team principal James Vowles will be very satisfied with his decision to promote Franco Colapinto after the summer break.
Logan Sargeant was given one last chance to prove himself, but an expensive crash at the Dutch Grand Prix was the final straw.
Colapinto immediately impressed on his debut despite missing out on points at Monza and has two top-10 finishes to his name in his first seven races.
He’s also managed to beat teammate Alex Albon in qualifying twice, something Logan Sargeant never managed for a Grand Prix.
Unsurprisingly, Colapinto is attracting interest from other teams on the grid as Williams don’t have space for him in 2025.

Albon will be joined by Carlos Sainz, meaning Colapinto can explore his options elsewhere on the grid.

Red Bull have a reputation for developing young talents, but more often than not, they need time in the RB set-up before facing off against Max Verstappen.
Franco Colapinto’s Las Vegas Grand Prix crash might impact Red Bull interest
Red Bull are in an awkward position at the moment where they need to keep the fastest driver on the grid happy while also improving the overall performance of the team.
They will lose the Constructors’ Championship this year because Sergio Perez hasn’t performed at a high enough level this year in a difficult-to-drive car.
However, none of the options available to the 121-race win Red Bull team to replace him have stood out.

Martin Brundle linked Colapinto to Red Bull before his crash in Las Vegas that forced him to start from the pit lane, making adding to his five points almost impossible.
He impressed during the race when he admitted he was still feeling the after-effects of a huge shunt but needs to prove in Qatar and Abu Dhabi that he can keep his car out of the barriers across a full race weekend.
