Max Verstappen single-handedly organised event which ‘impressed’ Red Bull staff after Qatar Grand Prix

Red Bull Racing staff were able to celebrate another Max Verstappen victory at the Qatar Grand Prix.

Last weekend’s race in Las Vegas secured a fourth championship title for Max Verstappen and he and his Red Bull colleagues partied long into the night in Sin City.

Just a few days later, they were on the other side of the world at the Qatar Grand Prix with the pressure off with one championship secured and another out of reach.

Verstappen and teammate Sergio Perez wouldn’t have had particularly high expectations for the Lusail International Circuit.

The Dutchman started and finished the Sprint Race in sixth, while Perez was eliminated in Q1 and failed to overtake a single driver as he used the 19-lap event as an additional test session.

That appeared to benefit both drivers, with Perez managing to advance to Q3 for Sunday’s Grand Prix, while Verstappen was briefly on pole position.

Verstappen was furious with George Russell after the Brit’s complaints earned him a one-place grid penalty, but as soon as he took the lead of the race going into the opening corner, he was never going to be stopped.

A report from De Telegraaf has now shared how Verstappen celebrated his victory with the rest of the team.

He even got to celebrate a victory in front of his family, who have previously stayed away from races as they’ve worried in the past that they might be a bad luck charm.

Max Verstappen ‘impressed’ Red Bull staff with post-Qatar Grand Prix speech

The report from De Telegraaf talks about how Verstappen wasn’t happy after the race despite winning the Grand Prix.

Russell was the subject of his ire in his post-race press conference, but he didn’t seem to let that ruin his evening.

Verstappen was congratulated by Virgil van Dijk and team principal Christian Horner after the race and went on to celebrate with all the travelling Red Bull staff.

The 27-year-old returned to the St. Regis hotel in Doha where the Red Bull cohort in Qatar were enjoying Verstappen’s win.

Verstappen had organised a party there to thank all of the staff for their work throughout the season.

Aside from the post-season test in Abu Dhabi, many people will want to leave the final race of the season next weekend as quickly as possible after the longest season in F1 history, which is why it made sense to celebrate immediately after Sunday’s race.

All of Red Bull’s staff were left ‘impressed’ by a speech Verstappen gave where he ‘expressed his appreciation’ for the team around him.

Max Verstappen looking to end the season on a high in Abu Dhabi

After 23 rounds, Verstappen will want to finish on a high at the final race in Abu Dhabi, even if there’s very little at stake for the 27-year-old.

Perez, meanwhile, needs a strong result to avoid speculation further increasing about his Red Bull future.

It’s amazing that Verstappen has an 80-point lead over Lando Norris after failing to win 10 races on the bounce.

His Red Bull wasn’t on the same level as McLaren and Ferrari’s cars but he extracted the maximum out of it at each race weekend to make sure Norris couldn’t cut his lead down too much.

Then, when the opportunities presented themselves, Verstappen showcased his unbelievable talent and his victory in Sao Paulo underlined why he deserves to be a four-time world champion.
