Lewis Hamilton’s sensational move to Ferrari from Mercedes is starting to feel more real. The Brit made his first public appearance in red at the F1 75 launch event.
Fans and pundits have had to wait a year for Hamilton to adorn the colours of F1’s most successful team. The 40-year-old announced the shock transfer before the start of the 2024 season.
Heading into 2025, Ferrari have high expectations with Hamilton on board alongside Charles Leclerc. The Maranello outfit missed out on their first constructors’ title since 2008 last season to McLaren by 14 points.

Hamilton admits it has been a ‘tough’ start to life at Ferrari but the seven-time champion is enjoying his new adventure.
The Brit has already looked to embrace the culture in Maranello. Hamilton addressed his Ferrari colleagues in Italian at his latest factory visit.
It is clear to see how energised and overjoyed Hamilton is to be at Ferrari – and those feelings are certainly echoed by fans around the world.

Fred Vasseur says Lewis Hamilton was ’emotional’ during F1 75 livery launch
Ferrari unveiled their 2025 livery at the F1 75 launch event at the O2 Arena in London. The Maranello outfit were second-to-last to reveal their design, with the order being done in reverse order of the 2024 constructors’ championship.
Hamilton said he feels ‘invigorated’ for 2025 at the event at Ferrari. The 40-year-old is confident ahead of pre-season testing in Bahrain next week.

As the Brit, Leclerc and Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur took to the stage in London, the crowd erupted with cheers for Hamilton.
The seven-time champion’s reception was immense, and Vasseur admitted that Hamilton was ’emotional’ at the event and has been ‘for a while’ seen moving to Maranello.
“Hamilton was emotional yesterday in London, true. But he’s been for a while,” said Vasseur via Sky Sport Italy.

Charles Leclerc stopped on track during SF-25’s first test in Fiorano
Ferrari have got straight back to work after F1 75 as they flew back to Italy to give the SF-25 its first shakedown session ahead of testing in Bahrain.
Leclerc and Hamilton drove the car around the team’s private Fiorano circuit – the former in the morning and the latter in the afternoon.

But the test was not smooth sailing for Ferrari. Leclerc ‘suffered a problem’ and was forced to stop on track, putting a halt to proceedings.
The idea of the shakedown is to iron out any technical issues ahead of the season opener in Australia next month. Mercedes defector Loic Serra has already told Ferrari how to use the Pirelli tyres ahead of Hamilton’s first season with the team.
Images of the SF-25 reveal Ferrari have gone for a front pull-rod suspension. Vasseur has said 99% of the car is different to its predecessors.
