The Cadillac F1 team held an exclusive launch event on the Saturday evening of the Miami Grand Prix race weekend. As part of the official launch, the American team released a teaser video with hints of what fans can expect from the team in 2026.
Fans waited patiently, both in person and at home, expecting a driver announcement this evening, but Cadillac is making them wait. Dan Towriss, chief executive of TWG Motorsports, explained to Motorsport.com and other media in Miami:
“I think the biggest thing is we’re not in a hurry to select a driver, there’s a lot that goes into selecting your pilot for Formula 1 from that standpoint.
“So we’re taking our time. The list certainly includes the names that many people are talking about. Although I do get a kick out of waking up each day and reading that we’re in the final stages of negotiation.”
Although fans were disappointed with the lack of confirmation surrounding any potential driver for the team, fans were keen for their choice to be heard as they chanted outside of the event, “Get Checo. Get Checo!”
What fans were treated to, however, was a teaser trailer, hinting at a blue-and-white theme for the team gear, and therefore maybe the livery, although the latter isn’t shown during the video itself and neither have been officially confirmed.
Eagle eyed viewers will spot the inclusion of the famous Cadillac Eldorado, an iconic motor vehicle known for its rocket-like tail lights, in silver. Could be another hint to the branding of the team, or maybe just a look back into the brand’s vast history? Who knows.
The teased blue and white theme could represent the international racing colours of America. Since it began its bid to join F1, initially under the Andretti brand, the team has been passionate about being the all-American team.
