Carlos Sainz enjoyed a nice send-off at Fiorano for his final days at Ferrari, having been able to run his race-winning F1 75 from 2022 for the final time.
The Spaniard took part in the day session with his father Carlos Sainz Snr, who was also given a chance to run in the second F1 75.
It was the second F1 car that the two-time World Rally Champion has ever driven, with Ferrari allowing Sainz Sr to run alongside his son on track. Despite spinning on one of the runs, Ferrari said he got up to speed quickly and put in consistent lap times.
It was probably not the fairytale ending to Sainz and Ferrari’s partnership in Abu Dhabi, after the team just missed out on clinching the Constructors’ Championship. But according to Gazzetta, Sainz will receive a parting gift from Ferrari.
Carlos Sainz to receive F1 75 as ‘unexpected gift’ from Ferrari
Drivers sometimes stipulate in their contracts that they receive one of their cars as a gift from the team, either if they win a championship or their first race.
Esteban Ocon received this privilege earlier in the year, when Alpine delivered their 2021 challenger to his house in which he won the 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix.
According to the report, Sainz received his F1 75 at his home as a parting gift from the team after four years of service.
The car was not part of Sainz’s contract with the team, but will rest alongside other Ferrari supercars in his garage in Madrid.

Carlos Sainz understands Ferrari’s decision to replace him 100% for 2025
There was a lot of indifference over whether Sainz was being snubbed at Ferrari despite achieving good results with the team in a car that was quick enough to challenge for victories, but not consistently win races.
Sainz finished 51 points ahead of Lewis Hamilton, who will replace him at Ferrari next year, in the Drivers’ Championship.

He also came back from appendicitis earlier in the season and won the Australian GP just weeks after he had surgery, showing his commitment to winning.
Even though he is one of the most capable drivers on the grid, Sainz said he now understands ‘100%’ why Ferrari chose to replace him with Hamilton.
