Charles Leclerc unveils special Imola GP helmet in touching tribute to Ferrari

In a touching nod to the Ferrari Formula 1 mechanics, Charles Leclerc has introduced a new helmet design for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix weekend. The design is “as similar as it could be” to the design worn by the Maranello squad’s mechanics.

Sharing a close-up view on social media, the Monegasque driver posted:

“Hope the helmet will be as fast as your pit stops. Thanks for all the hard work, this helmet is as similar as it could be to the one of our mechanics. Imola is special, and I’ll give it all.”

Leclerc had missed the media day at Imola due to illness. However, he arrived at the track this morning and got into the car for Free Practice 1.

The Emilia Romagna Grand Prix kicks off the European leg of the 2025 F1 season. Speaking ahead of the weekend, which is also the start of another triple-header, team chief Fred Vasseur commented in a press release:

“After the first six races across three different continents, we begin the European leg of the season in Imola. Since the last Grand Prix, we’ve worked hard in Maranello, preparing every detail of the next Grand Prix with the aim of maximising the potential of our package so as to allow Charles and Lewis to perform at their best on what is a demanding track, where we’ll also be able to count on the support of our home fans.”

Leclerc’s team-mate Lewis Hamilton also stated:

“I’ve always loved coming to Imola, but now it means more. We learned a lot from Miami, went deep into the data, and we’ve got a clear direction. Now it’s about maximising what we’ve got. I can’t wait to hit the track, especially with the support from the Tifosi.”
