Defiant Sergio Perez used one word so many times it could form a ‘drinking game’

Sergio Perez is under significant pressure at Red Bull as he has consistently lagged behind his four-time world champion teammate Max Verstappen.

The Mexican hasn’t won a race this season and has finished outside the top five in every round since the Miami Grand Prix in May.

Perez has also suffered in qualifying as he failed to make it out of the first knockout round in Monaco and at the British Grand Prix.

This has made the races difficult for himself as he has had to battle in the midfield and teammate Max Verstappen as he is fighting one-handed against Ferrari and McLaren.

Perez is clinging onto his Red Bull drive and consistently used one word when talking about the multiple issues he’s faced this year.

Perez has rarely been able to match his teammate Verstappen since they were paired up at the Austrian team in 2021.

His limitations were masked in 2022 and last season as Red Bull were able to deliver wins comfortably ahead of the rest of the field.

McLaren and Ferrari are much quicker than before and even faster this season than Red Bull, as they are both ahead in the Constructors’ Championship.

Perez may be coming towards the end of his time at the Austrian team, as he has rarely been able to extract the maximum from his car.

AMuS reports that Perez used ‘we’ when describing his issues despite Verstappen being much more comfortable with the car than he has. They wrote that the Mexican said the word ‘we’ a lot and it could have formed a ‘drinking game.’

Cadillac joining Formula 1 in 2026 may be an option for Sergio Perez

Formula 1 will have 11 teams and 22 cars for the 2026 season as Cadillac will be joining the grid which should boost interest in North America.

The extra two cars may provide opportunities for young drivers but it may be wise to place an experienced driver in the car.

Perez may be an option for Cadillac if he doesn’t race at Red Bull for much longer, as he is experienced and would bring a lot of funding to the team.

The Mexican has also been blisteringly fast in his career but lacks a lot of confidence up againsnt Verstappen at the front of the field.
