Much like last season, several F1 teams have introduced special liveries for the Las Vegas Grand Prix, and Visa Cash App RB’s is catching the attention this year.
The Faenza-based squad find themselves in a tense battle for sixth in the Constructors’ Championship with three races to go. The team had been sixth for much of the year until they were recently overtaken by Haas.
The American outfit have displayed solid performance in their VF-24 in recent races with consistent appearances in Q3 and regular points finishes. But at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, both Haas and RB were leapfrogged by Alpine after a mega result.
In a race affected by torrential rain and benefitting from a red flag, Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly finished second and third to put the Enstone outfit in sixth, three points ahead of Haas and five ahead of RB in a battle that is worth millions for the teams.
After their double points finish in Sao Paulo, RB will be eager to continue the momentum in the Las Vegas Grand Prix. However, their livery for the race has drawn comparisons to a team they probably do not want to be associated with in their battle for sixth.

F1 fans compare RB’s Las Vegas Grand Prix livery to the 1990s Sauber
The RB VCARB 01 will sport a teal green colour in what is a chameleon-style design very similar to their striking livery used at the Miami Grand Prix.
But F1 fans could not help but notice that the Faenza outfit’s car looks like the old Sauber Petronas livery from the 1990s – who ironically were then sponsored by Red Bull – with their iconic blue and green colours recognisable to many fans over on X.
Even former Sauber driver Heinz-Harald Frentzen was reminded of his old team when he saw the RB livery as he wrote: “I remember that livery from somewhere.”
And several fans were quick to jump to the same comparisons. One fan noted that the RB was missing Sauber’s iconic sponsor: “Looking for the Petronas stickers.”
Another user wrote: “Redbull sauber petronas mercedes,” while another said: “RB is the new Sauber!”
One fan said: “It’s a Sauber-Red-Bull Hommage-livery. Very kind from RB.”
While another wrote: “Died 2004. Born in 2024. Welcome back Red Bull Sauber Petronas.”

Who will drive for RB in 2025?
While their livery has been on everyone’s mind heading into Las Vegas, the main focus of attention at RB remains on who will race with the team in 2025.
The Faenza outfit have the last seat to confirm for next season, with Yuki Tsunoda tied down to a deal for 2025. Liam Lawson is widely expected to get the seat, but Red Bull are still deciding whether to part ways with Sergio Perez at the end of the year, which would create an opening at both teams.
The Mexican has desperately struggled to perform in comparison to his teammate Max Verstappen, who can win his fourth consecutive title this weekend. Perez is under increased pressure to keep his seat, with several drivers waiting in the wings if he is sacked.
Lawson is being tipped for a Red Bull promotion to replace Perez, while Franco Colapinto has been heavily linked with the team after his impressive performances at Williams. However, Lawrence Barretto thinks RB will likely sign Isack Hadjar over Colapinto if Lawson is promoted to Red Bull.
