Tsunoda to start from pit lane

After a frustrating SQ1 session where Red Bull somewhat fumbled his timings, Yuki Tsunoda will start the sprint race from the pitlane as the team registered a change to his suspension set-up.

As Tsunoda’s car had to be pulled out parc ferme to do so, this was deemed a breach of the FIA’s Article 40.9 b) in the sporting regulations and thus surrenders his 18th-placed qualifying position.

“It’s been absolutely chucking it down here. The rain has eased, and has nearly stopped, but the ground is soaked and there’s no sun. So it’ll be a spicy start to the race – and everyone’s still currently hiding from the rain.”
