Ferrari fans will love what Frederic Vasseur just said about Lewis Hamilton vs Charles Leclerc

Ferrari were in superb form this season as the Italian team narrowly missed out on their first Constructors’ Championship since 2008.

The Scuderia battled McLaren throughout the second half of the year, while Red Bull faded away amid Sergio Perez’s struggles.

Ferrari were fast on a range of tracks as the SF-24 was incredibly versatile, allowing Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz to stay consistent.

They both won multiple races this season but suffered a difficult outing at the Canadian Grand Prix, where neither driver finished the 70-lap event.

Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur has led the team forward over the past couple of seasons, and the Frenchman said something fans will love about Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton.

Hamilton and Leclerc represent a superb line-up that could be considered the best on the grid with a blend of raw speed and championship-winning experience.

If they collaborate effectively, the pair may have what it takes to get Ferrari over the line and win the Italian team its first championship since 2008.

Vasseur hinted at a lack of team orders next season, which is similar to how Leclerc and Sainz approached their racing over the past four years.

He told Sky Sports F1: “I prefer to fight for first and second than 19th and 20th, this is clear. I think it’s part of the performance.

“It’s that clearly, the last two years, I let them race on the track, and it was for the benefit of the team because the emulation that we created like this was part of the recovery when we had tough times, and they had a huge respect between them.”

Hamilton and Leclerc are both incredibly quick, but they may cause an issue for the team if they continue to take points from each other.

Ferrari are the only top team with two drivers that have won races over multiple seasons

Ferrari have a superb line-up, and both drivers have won races across multiple seasons, while other top teams have less experienced members of their team.

Red Bull are welcoming New Zealander Liam Lawson, who is racing against four-time world champion Max Verstappen after just 11 Grands Prix starts.

Mercedes are in a similar position as George Russell knows how to craft a race win, but his teammate Andrea Kimi Antonelli is a complete unknown ahead of the 18-year-old’s debut.

Both McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri have won races, but this season was a new experience for them, while Ferrari are more experienced.

This added know-how should help Ferrari create a consistent campaign if the car is competitive over the season.
