Lewis Hamilton has admitted that getting up to speed at Ferrari was never going to be an instant process.
Ferrari fans got to see a glimpse of the best of Lewis Hamilton at the Chinese Grand Prix.
He took pole position for the Sprint Race and then led from start to finish to give the Scuderia and thousands of his fans in the crowd something to cheer about.
Unfortunately, that was where the good news ended for Ferrari, Hamilton and Charles Leclerc after both drivers were disqualified from the Grand Prix.
Hamilton also let Leclerc pass when he realised the Monegasque driver was quicker than him, even with a broken front wing.
The 40-year-old is well aware that adjusting to his new surroundings after 12 seasons racing for Mercedes was never going to be easy.
However, it appears as though team principal Frederic Vasseur is making every effort possible to try and help Hamilton feel as comfortable as possible in the SF-25.

Ferrari give Lewis Hamilton steering wheel changes he’s ‘always wanted’
A report from Motorsport has shared more details about fundamentally important changes Ferrari have made to Lewis Hamilton’s steering wheel.
Hamilton previously asked for Ferrari to adjust his steering wheel when he first started testing, but plenty of additional improvements have now been made.
The 40-year-old has received new software that hasn’t been installed on Leclerc’s car which will give him access to more data, similarly to how his wheel functioned at Mercedes.
Hamilton will be able to see more details on his engine mapping, while the organisation of how to access more information about his power unit has been updated to more closely mimic the system Mercedes use.
He has asked for more information to be immediately available compared to Leclerc, however, there are still modes and menus that Hamilton will have to learn to get used to that Ferrari use differently to Mercedes, such as how certain functions are grouped together.
Ferrari are also offering Hamilton a ‘Multi’ space on the screen in the steering wheel, which allows for secondary engine settings to be selected, something Hamilton was ‘always wanted’ to have access to.
This gives him much more detail than he received at Mercedes, however, Leclerc prefers to have a clearer dashboard, only receiving key information every time he starts a new lap.

Lewis Hamilton making every effort to turn Ferrari move into a success
It’s hard to deny that Hamilton has gone to great lengths to try and set himself up for a title challenge as soon as he joined Ferrari.
Hamilton was doing long hours at Ferrari’s factory in Maranello and set up his motorhome in the area to avoid wasting any time commuting.
He spent hours in the simulator and did the maximum amount of testing possible before heading to Bahrain for three more days of work ahead of the season starting.

Hamilton is getting to grips with working alongside new race engineer Riccardo Adami and although only their most testy communications have been broadcast during races, they do seem to be building up a relationship.
Adami kept asking Hamilton to try and K1 setting in Australia, but was receiving a bit of pushback from the seven-time world champion.
His new steering wheel setting should help him better understand the options available to him in those situations and learn how the car is behaving to different scenarios during practice, qualifying and the race itself.
