One of the most anticipated stories of the 2025 F1 season is how Lewis Hamilton will get on at Ferrari, as he chases an eighth title.
Hamilton made his on-track debut with Ferrari at Fiorano last week, where 3,000 fans were gathered to watch him turn his first laps.
The Briton completed 30 laps and described it as ‘one of the best feelings of my life’ and remarked that it reminded him of his first laps in an F1 car when he made his debut in 2007.
It is expected that Hamilton will complete more running in private tests before the new season kickstart, while Ferrari plans to unveil its 2025 challenger on 19th February.
There will be a lot of pressure on Ferrari to provide Hamilton with a car capable of winning titles, and former F1 team boss Guenther Steiner believes it will be important for him to experience when speaking to GP fans.
Lewis Hamilton needs pressure to succeed at Ferrari claims Guenther Steiner
Hamilton winning an eighth title would be unprecedented in F1, and would secure his place as one of the all-time greats of the sport.
Steiner highlighted how Hamilton will have to deal with the pressure at Ferrari, and what they will need to do to have a successful year.
“Lewis knows there is pressure. You cannot avoid it, he’s a seven-time world champion and a very good racer. Going to Ferrari, it’s a big story,” said Steiner.
“I think Lewis can deal with the pressure and Ferrari needs it because they were very good last year, and now if they start strong in Australia they have a good chance to bring a world championship back to Italy.”

Lewis Hamilton did one impressive thing at his first Ferrari test
Hamilton impressed early on during his test at Fiorano, showcasing elite car control according to one report.
There was one moment where Hamilton locked up his brakes, but that was expected given the cold conditions and the Briton needing to understand the limits of the car.
There were also moments when he came close to dipping a wheel in the gravel, but always maintained control despite there being ‘zero grip’ on the track.
He will have more running before the season starts, although the changes to the Testing of Previous Car rules do impact Hamilton this year.
