Haas unveils throwback livery to celebrate 200th Grand Prix in Canada

The Haas Formula 1 team is set to reach a milestone at the upcoming Canadian Grand Prix with it being the American team’s 200th Grand Prix in the sport.

To mark the occasion, the Ayao Komatsu-led team has unveiled a striking livery design – a nod to their original livery from when they entered the sport in 2016. The new design features a silver, red, and black theme, mirroring the car that was piloted by Romain Grosjean and Esteban Gutierrez.

After nine races of the 2025 season, the American squad sits seventh in the constructors’ standings with 26 points from drivers Esteban Ocon and Oliver Bearman. Komatsu assumed the role of team principal after Guenther Steiner’s shock exit ahead of the 2024 season.

With a 16th and 17th-place finish in Spain for Ocon and Bearman, respectively, the team is eager to turn their performance around for Montreal. Commenting in a press release after the race in Barcelona, Komatsu explained that the car “didn’t quite have the pace.”

“It wasn’t a very good day today, the car didn’t quite have the pace, but I also don’t think we put it together very well operationally,” he said. “It’s not just today, what happened today stems from Friday as well so we really need to investigate how we can refine our operations, get more out of the car, more out of our drivers, and work better together. We’ll reflect on this one and try to do better in Montreal.”

Ocon also explained that as Monaco was a strong track for the team, with a seventh and 12th-place finish for the French driver and Bearman respectively, he is eager to return to a street circuit in Canada.

“We stayed out on used tires under the safety car as we would’ve been at the back of the grid, and it wasn’t worth it,” Ocon explained.

“It’s the end of the triple-header and there are some positives and some difficulties, but thanks to the team for the support they’ve given over these three weeks. I think it’s good that we’re now going into a week where we can analyze things and hopefully come back stronger.

“The positive was Monaco, and we now go to Canada which is another street circuit, so looking to getting back to where we belong there.”
