It’s safe to say that Lando Norris has caught our attention ahead of the 2025 Miami Grand Prix, as he reveals the most blindingly shiny helmet we’ve ever seen in Formula 1. The McLaren driver unveiled this disco ball-inspired helmet to comments from fans comparing him to pop superstar Taylor Swift. It’s Lando’s era and no one can stop him.
With a metallic chrome finish, the design of the helmet looks like it came straight from the set of Saturday Night Fever. The official Lando Norris store is already selling 1:2 scale replicas of the helmet for £199, produced by the same team behind his real example.
The product description states:
“Celebrate Lando’s breakthrough win in true Miami style with the Disco Ball Helmet. This limited-edition piece captures the energy of his maiden victory with a disco ball inspired custom metallic finish — the perfect display piece for every LN4 fan.
“These model helmets have been created by Bell, the same team who create the helmet Lando races with. It features an adjustable visor, chin strap, cushioning on the inside and HANS clip.”
This follows a number of special edition helmets from the driver, who in 2022 revealed a basketball design for his Miami campaign. This was followed by a beach ball design in 2023.
While still revolving around the ball theme, this has certainly taken his helmet game to new heights.
As you’d imagine, fans were quick to comment on the post, with many drawing comparisons to Taylor Swift. One commenter joked: “Alexa play ‘Mirrorball’ by Taylor Swift.”

“Okay Taylor Swift,” laughed another commenter as a third posted, “Shining just for youuuu,” a lyric from Swift’s song on her eighth studio album, Folklore.
Interestingly, Swift’s connection to the Miami Grand Prix runs deeper than these comments. Her partner, NFL star Travis Kelce, has ties to Formula 1 as an investor in the Alpine team. Norris took his first win at the 2024 Miami Grand Prix, and later in the day met Kelce at a restaurant. Talking with Radio One’s Greg James, he discussed his meeting of the sportsman.
“He’s invested in the wrong team, first of all,” he joked. “Yeah… that’s gone well! Each to their own. A lot of people know about Travis now, especially after the Super Bowl and everything.
“I met him, I was out at dinner, I had to get some food in me after the race and he was there. One of my friends introduced me to him and he was an awesome guy, he was a legend. He was very sweet and we exchanged numbers and hopefully I can get to a game one day. Or a Taylor Swift concert!”
Norris hopes to continue his success in Miami this weekend, though he was recently overtaken by team-mate Oscar Piastri after the Australian won the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. Trailing Piastri by 10 points in the drivers’ standings, he has admitted that he doesn’t want to rely on upgrades to find further performance from his Papaya car.
