Lando Norris has given an update on his Ferrari F40 after a crash on the streets of Monaco.
His prized Ferrari, estimated to be worth $2.5 million, was involved in a crash over New Year when he lent it to a friend, who he has kept anonymous. Unsurprisingly, videos of the crash quickly gained traction on social media.
As the driver took to the mountainous roads surrounding Monte Carlo, they lost control of the rear end while coming out of a left-hand bend. The car span and crashed into the barriers causing damage to the rear.
Providing an update on the repairs, Norris confirmed to The Sun: “No [it is not back to normal]. It was when I was away. I wasn’t happy at all.”
Norris’ Ferrari F40 is just one of 1,311 to ever be made between 1987 and 1992. The model, which was the last to be overseen by Enzo Ferrari, was the first street-legal car to break the 200 mph barrier.
Speaking at the launch of the mid-engine, rear-wheel drive, two-door coupe, Enzo Ferrari said: “I expressed a wish that we produce a car which could remind us of Le Mans and the GTO.”
Norris also discussed some of the other cars in his collection, including a Lamborghini Miura. Commenting on the rare machine, Norris explained:

“I bought it because I watched the Lamborghini movie. It’s a car I loved and thought it was pretty cool. That was the first decent purchase I made for a car. It’s one of the best-looking cars ever been made.
“I grew up loving cars. I’m lucky I get to drive them and buy them because I have always dreamed of it.”
He added: “McLarens have been the ones that I’ve spent the most time making and doing special touches on. I prefer classics and older cars more than modern ones.”
This comes after the 25-year-old was spotted ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix in a stunning Porsche 911 GT3 RS.
