Lando Norris finished second to Oscar Piastri during the Chinese Grand Prix, securing a one-two for McLaren after overtaking George Russell in the opening stages.
Russell made a forceful move on Piastri for the lead into Turn 1, but the Australian squeezed him heading into the apex and closed the door to retain the lead heading into Turn 2.
This allowed Norris to take to the outside and then pass Russell exiting Turn 4. Despite losing ground, Mercedes bided their time and pitted Russell early by making use of the powerful undercut.
Norris would later retake second from Russell, in an overtake he compared to one Michael Schumacher move when speaking in the Chinese Grand Prix podium cool-down room.

Lando Norris compares George Russell move to Michael Schumacher
After Russell emerged ahead of Norris in the pit stops, the McLaren driver would retake the place a couple of laps later with an aggressive move using DRS down the start/finish straight on Russell into Turn 1.
Norris said it reminded him of the ‘horrible’ defensive move Michael Schumacher once pulled on Rubens Barrichello at the 2010 Hungarian Grand Prix when he forced the Brazilian into the pit wall.
Norris: “That reminded me of Schumacher and Barrichello that one.”
Russell: “Was you Barrichello?”
Norris: “Just put me in the wall!”
Oscar Piastri: “Don’t tell Andrea [Stella] that because he’ll never stop talking about it!”
Norris would go on to finish second with Russell in third place, while Piastri won his first race of the 2025 season.
What happened at the 2010 Hungarian GP between Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello?
Barrichello was chasing Schumacher towards the end of the Hungarian GP, when exiting the final corner he got a run on the Mercedes driver in his Williams.
When the Brazilian pulled alongside his former teammate, Schumacher continued to steer towards him and edge him into the pit wall.
The pair only just cleared the exit of the pit lane before it would have resulted in a big crash, with tyre markings appearing on the pit wall.
Barrichello would go on to plead for the stewards to issue Schumacher with a black flag to disqualify him, although they would only go on to issue him with a 10-place grid penalty for the following race in Belgium.
