Ferrari drivers Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc were treated to track time behind the wheel of the marque’s latest halo supercar, the F80.
As the latest iteration of some of the brand’s greatest line of cars, including the F40 and F50, the laughs in the YouTube video alone prove that smiles per gallon is an addictive measurement.
The mid-engined F80 boasts a 3-litre V6 coupled with three motors ,producing a total of 1,200 horsepower and 850 newton-metres of torque. This powertrain received the highest of compliments from the seven-time champion, who referred to it as “the fastest road car I’ve ever been in” before both drivers claimed they would be getting one on order.
With the Fiorano tarmac free to be indulged, both drivers made the most of their time with the car as they powered it around Ferrari’s famous test track. Leclerc took to the seat first. “It’s fast,” he said, as he accelerated the car down the straight while Hamilton’s eyes grew wider from the passenger seat. “Holy shit,” Hamilton said in reaction to the pace of the Italian machinery.
“Okay, I’ve got to order me one of these one day,” he continued as his Monegasque team-mate put the car’s rubber through its paces. “It drives so nice.”
“I want you to enjoy this beauty,” Leclerc told Hamilton as they swapped seats. The two couldn’t hold in their laughter as the former Mercedes driver drove it at ten-tenths.

“I was trying to be nice,” Leclerc argued as they came to a stop and reflected to the camera. “I was not pushing too much, not trying… He went flat out. We were saying how light the car feels, it’s crazy. The turn-in is so good, so reactive.”
Hamilton added, “This is the fastest road car Ferrari has done, for sure,” as Leclerc continued, “In terms of balance, I think it’s the best car ever.”
After taking it out on a final lap, Leclerc confirmed that he would be ordering it in “full black,” before the drivers circled it like vultures eyeing up their next meal. Not a bad company car.
