The Formula 1 field appeared to be largely unaffected by the FIA technical directive at the Spanish Grand Prix as McLaren secured another one-two.
Following them home in third was Ferrari and Charles Leclerc, who managed his third podium of the campaign.
He remains fifth in the drivers’ championship, and sadly, just halfway through the season, it feels unlikely that he will be able to challenge for the top two spots.
Even with 15 more Formula 1 races to go this season, McLaren’s advantage seems a bit too big for anyone to stage a comeback, with attention set to turn to the 2026 F1 regulations soon.
Ferrari might give up on 2025 ‘immediately’ if a future rear suspension fails to improve their car and bring them further into contention.
Leclerc has started copying Lewis Hamilton in a bid to utilise everything he can learn from the seven-time champion and his habits.

Lewis Hamilton may be devastated to hear of Ferrari’s ‘new’ limitations at the 2025 Spanish Grand Prix
Leclerc created ‘doubt’ at Ferrari’s factory after failing to understand the root of his problems a few races ago in Imola.
It appears that may continue to be the case and worse, after facing new problems at the Spanish Grand Prix.
Teammate Hamilton won’t be delighted to hear of his new woes after being beaten by him in race trim yet again, despite starting higher than him on the grid.
“I know the limitations. For whatever reason, we need to understand why that changed massively from the first stint to the last stint,” he told Sky Sports F1.
“The limitations were a lot more difficult to manage in the last stint. We need to understand why but I’ve got an explanation for it.
“I’m pretty sure I know where it’s coming from. It’s not something I expected. It’s new from this weekend.”

Charles Leclerc aims controversial comment at Max Verstappen after the Spanish Grand Prix
Leclerc had to pass a struggling Max Verstappen on hard tyres late in the Spanish Grand Prix to earn a podium.
The reigning champion couldn’t fire his Pirelli rubber up in time and was swallowed up by some of his rivals.
He got a little frustrated at having to give George Russell’s position back and drove into the side of him. The stewards handed him a 10-second time penalty as a result.
Leclerc made a controversial Verstappen comment and said that the move was very optimistic of him.
As the pressure ramps up on his rival, could there be an opening for him to exploit and pass him in the championship?
