Lewis Hamilton has been ticking off the pre-season checklist at Ferrari. In January, he officially began work at Maranello and began a TPC testing programme.
Last month, he made his first official appearance in Ferrari red at the F1 75 launch in London, predictably receiving the loudest cheers of the night. And then he travelled to Bahrain for three days of pre-season testing.
Earlier this week, the Tifosi had the chance to wish Hamilton and Charles Leclerc well for the season ahead. The two drivers completed demonstration runs through the streets of Milan before appearing on stage.

Now the season-opening Australian Grand Prix looms. In less than a week’s time, the grid will be set in Melbourne and pre-season conceptions over the pecking order will either be dispelled or confirmed.
Hamilton’s long-time rival Fernando Alonso memorably won on his Ferrari debut in 2010. Sebastian Vettel only needed until round two in 2015.
A repeat looks unlikely this year – Ted Kravitz expects a McLaren one-two – but it’s certainly not impossible. It’s been 10 years since Hamilton last won at Albert Park in the colours of Mercedes.
Martin Brundle backs Lewis Hamilton for multiple Grand Prix victories at Ferrari
With the start of the season approaching, Sky Sports asked their F1 pundits to predict the 2025 season. They were each given the chance to issue a ‘bold’ take.
Martin Brundle believes Hamilton will win at least two races for new team Ferrari this season. On the face of it, that may not seem especially brave.
The 40-year-old has taken multiple victories in 15 of his 18 seasons. Predecessor Carlos Sainz stood on the top step twice last season.
But Hamilton holds the record for the most races with a single team (Mercedes) and now he’s in brand-new surroundings. It may be that the world champion this year only picks up a handful of wins, with the field expected to be extremely close.
“My bold prediction for this season is that Lewis Hamilton will win more than one race in the Ferrari,” Brundle said.
Max Verstappen comments suggest Martin Brundle may be wrong about Lewis Hamilton
There is some ‘paddock chatter’ after testing that Ferrari have the fourth-fastest car. But estimates vary, with some placing them second.
It’s worth remembering that Mercedes were fourth last season and Hamilton still won twice. His first victory as a Ferrari driver, should it arrive, promises to be unforgettable.

The universal consensus is that McLaren are the quickest team heading to Australia. But how big is their advantage, and how long will it last?
Max Verstappen says McLaren are the only title contenders on current form. He acknowledges that the situation could change over a 24-race season, but a dominant showing from the Woking outfit could stop Hamilton from living up to Brundle’s prediction.
