Haas Formula 1 driver Oliver Bearman has revealed his goals for the 2025 season and the camaraderie he has with his fellow rookie drivers.
Six rookie drivers are joining the sport this year. Bearman was the first to be announced in July 2024, a time the British driver described as “pretty scary.” However, by the end of the season, Andrea Kimi Antonelli, Gabriel Bortoleto, Jack Doohan, Isack Hadjar, and Liam Lawson all secured full-time seats.
Speaking to the media, including Motorsport.com, Bearman commented on what his goals are for the season:
“I mean, a race win would be fantastic, but you know, judging by the performances over the years, quite unrealistic, I would say, I think that’s a pretty fair comment.
“My goal for the season is not really based on results. I’m more focusing on my personal performance. Of course, we don’t actually know where the car stands in terms of performance yet, so that’s something we have to wait and see. But my goal is to improve as much as I can throughout the year, take on my experience, and be very self-critical. I think that’s a really good way to improve.
“Hopefully, I look back at the year and see a marked improvement throughout the year, and that would be the sign of a successful season.”
The 19-year-old Brit also opened up on joining the grid alongside many of his Formula 2 peers. He explained:

“At the start, I was the only rookie for a few weeks or months, and those were pretty scary weeks because being the only one out there would have been very difficult, and now to have other rookies in the same situation as me, in the same boat experiencing the same things for the first time.
“It’s a really good set of people to judge myself against, so that’s a nice feeling and good to have on.”
The first two practice sessions for the Australian Grand Prix will take place shortly, marking the official start of the 2025 season.
