Peter Windsor says Racing Bulls F1 team have now recruited a ‘calming influence’ to help Yuki Tsunoda

There will be changes to Red Bull’s sister team for the 2025 season as Liam Lawson replaces Sergio Perez.

Lawson was drafted back in at Racing Bulls for the final six races of the year, following a disappointing season for Daniel Ricciardo.

Even though he only finished in the points twice, Lawson was seen as the ideal candidate after Christian Horner disagreed with Helmut Marko on promoting Yuki Tsunoda.

Tsunoda has been the standout driver for Racing Bulls this year, having scored the majority of their 46 points in the Constructors’ Championship. However, Red Bull felt he would struggle up against Verstappen and ultimately thought it was better to have Lawson given how strong he has been mentally this year.

Replacing Lawson at Racing Bulls will be F2 rookie Isack Hadjar, who Peter Windsor thinks will be a perfect matchup when speaking on the Cameron CC podcast.

Isack Hadjar a ‘calming influence’ for Yuki Tsunoda at Racing Bulls

Hadjar is being promoted after finishing as runner-up in Formula 2, having just missed out on the title to Sauber’s Gabriel Bortoleto.

The Frenchman has been relatively successful in junior formula’s and Windsor rates him highly, believing he will also help Tsunoda improve his form.

“I think he’s looked really good in F2, he definitely has a certain ability to be in the right place at the right time and to get through a situation and to keep his cool,” said Windsor.

“I wouldn’t think he was a moaner at all, I’ve got a lot of time for him and probably a logical choice. And probably a calming influence on Yuki.”

Isack Hadjar is one of five full-time rookies on 2025 F1 grid

Hadjar joins four other rookies who will make their full-time F1 debuts in 2025, including Mercedes Andrea Kimi Antonelli and Ferrari junior Oliver Bearman.

Andrea Kimi Antonelli Mercedes

Bearman will be racing at Haas alongside Esteban Ocon, while Kimi Antonelli will partner George Russell.

Jack Doohan made an early debut with Alpine at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which Jolyon Palmer said was ‘difficult’ for the Australian.

With a quarter of the grid set to be rookies, it is set to be an interesting season to see who comes out on top.
