Racing Bulls fans send Ferrari a very clear message after both teams unveil special Miami Grand Prix liveries

Ferrari will run a special one-off livery for the Miami Grand Prix, but Racing Bulls fans have sent the Scuderia a clear message after seeing the new look their team will run.

The two Italian outfits have opted to use new colours for the first race of the 2025 F1 season on American soil this weekend. Sauber have even joined Ferrari and Racing Bulls in unveiling a new look with the Swiss team tweaking their green-and-black livery to echo a paint splash.

Ferrari head to the Miami GP on the back of Charles Leclerc scoring their first podium of the campaign last time out with P3 in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. But Lewis Hamilton is still in the learning phase and is struggling after he ditched Mercedes to join the Scuderia this year.

The seven-time champion will hope the break after the Saudi Arabian GP gave him a chance to reset as Ferrari think Hamilton is performing well below their expectations. He also needs to unlock a better feeling as Ferrari feel Hamilton must adapt his driving style for the SF-25.

Racing Bulls fans tell Ferrari to ‘Take notes’ after seeing both teams’ Miami GP liveries

New paint schemes will also hit the grid at the Miami GP with Ferrari paying tribute to their title sponsor, HP, by adopting a blue-and-white engine cover and rear wing. The rest of their SF-25 will remain in the Scuderia’s red, but their mismatch design has not gone down well.

A raft of Racing Bulls fans have taken to social media to tell Ferrari the error of their ways by only tweaking their livery after seeing the one-off pink look the Faenza outfit will run for the Miami GP. Racing Bulls have overhauled their look for Liam Lawson and Isack Hadjar entirely.

Multiple fans told Ferrari to “Take notes” after seeing Racing Bulls’ livery for the Miami GP. But while they feel the Maranello natives could learn a lesson from their fellow Italian crew, one Racing Bulls fan also claimed, “Ferrari should take notes, but they won’t. Great livery!”

Fans telling Ferrari they should “Take notes” was a very persistent theme upon Racing Bulls unveiling their pink livery for the Miami GP. One fan even added in their message to Ferrari, “Now this is called a special livery, Ferrari. What are you guys doing?” given their new look.

The idea that Racing Bulls set an example was also echoed in one fan telling Ferrari that they should, “Look at this if you make a livery that is serious”. Another also stated, “Ferrari could never produce a livery of this magnitude”, given their marginally modified look for this week.

A Racing Bulls fan also said, “This is how a special livery is done”, whilst comparing the one-off look the Faenza squad will run in the Miami GP with Ferrari’s livery. Another also claimed, “Now you guys have a better livery than Ferrari! The pink and white colours look amazing”.

Laurent Mekies thinks Racing Bulls’ 2025 Miami GP livery shows their ‘daring’ approach

Like Ferrari honouring their title sponsor, HP, with the Scuderia’s slightly modified livery for the Miami GP, Racing Bulls’ one-off pink look is a marketing exercise for their parent team, Red Bull, designed to promote the Austrian energy drink brand’s special sugar-free version.

Racing Bulls team principal Laurent Mekies believes his outfit’s new look for the Miami GP is a sign of the Faenza crew’s identity, though. He feels Racing Bulls have been ‘daring’ with their livery for the first American round of 2025 after fans loved their 2024 Miami GP livery.

“It has been part of this team’s identity to be daring with the one-off livery,” Mekies has told Autosport. “Miami last year was the first time we did it. The fans loved it. We then went into doing it a couple more times, like Daniel [Ricciardo] in Singapore.

“We like to surprise, we like to take some risks on track [and] off track. Sometimes it hurts, sometimes people fall in love with it and I think the one-off livery is a good representation of where the team is at. Daring and pushing the boundaries on track and off track.”
