The upcoming triple-header could go a long way to deciding both championships, with upgrades and a change in Formula 1’s technical regulations on the horizon.
Oscar Piastri goes into the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix leading the drivers’ championship ahead of McLaren teammate Lando Norris and Red Bull star Max Verstappen.
There’s also a debut approaching at Imola, with Franco Colapinto making his Alpine bow after replacing Jack Doohan.
The pressure is beginning to increase on nearly every driver for a variety of reasons, with some hoping to continue to outperform expectations such as Alex Albon at Williams and hometown hero Andrea Kimi Antonelli.

However, four drivers will start the race in Imola having yet to score a point in 2025.
Colapinto is among that quartet, alongside two-time world champion Fernando Alonso, Racing Bulls star Liam Lawson and Sauber rookie Gabriel Bortoleto.
Ralf Schumacher, speaking in the build-up to the seventh race of the year, believes one driver among that quartet might not reach the end of the season.

Liam Lawson told by Ralf Schumacher he’s not ‘going all the way’ to the end of the 2025 F1 season
Schumacher was speaking on the Backstage Boxengasse Podcast and asked about the chance of his nephew Mick Schumacher returning to Formula 1 and where an opportunity may arise.
Schumacher has impressed Mario Andretti at Cadillac, but analysing his other potential options, he said, “I don’t know if that’s necessarily the case with Alpine, but one thing is definitely conceivable.
“It shows that Mick is someone who can get involved on different levels and be successful and definitely deserves another chance.
“The topic of Cadillac is back in the room, and maybe a situation like that too.
“I mean, at the moment, you can see that everything in Formula 1 is a bit unbelievable.
“I don’t see Liam Lawson going all the way [to the end of the season], but we’ll have to wait and see what happens if it stays this way.
“There’s still a lot of movement, and that’s why it’s definitely a possibility and I think the advantage for Mick would be that he would be able to find his way around very quickly without any major testing, which doesn’t exist anyway because he knows the current cars well.”

Who could replace Liam Lawson if Racing Bulls decide to make a second 2025 driver switch?
Lawson starting the season at Red Bull and finishing it off the grid entirely would be an extremely harsh way for his Formula 1 career to potentially end.
Red Bull promoting Lawson was ambitious, to say the least, given his lack of Grand Prix starts and the difficulty Sergio Perez had alongside Verstappen despite having vastly more experience.
Tsunoda has been a slight improvement since replacing Lawson but has not produced any game-changing results that immediately justify Christian Horner making the switch.

Schumacher hasn’t been impressed with Lawson this season, and after spending pre-season getting to grips with the RB21, he’s now playing catch-up to new teammate Isack Hadjar.
F1 Oversteer understands Red Bull still have faith in Lawson, even if he’s failed to score a point in a competitive midfield this season.
If they were to decide that his time in Formula 1 was over, then the two obvious candidates are Pepe Marti and Arvid Lindblad who are both racing in F2 this year.
Lindblad is very highly rated by Red Bull, but Marti is currently the highest-ranked Red Bull junior in the series.
