Isack Hadjar was left in tears after crashing out during his Formula 1 debut at the Australian Grand Prix without even making the start of the race.
Immediately after returning to the paddock, Hadjar was consoled by Lewis Hamilton’s father – Anthony while he was visibly upset.
He had a great chance of points on his Visa Cash App Racing Bulls debut on a day with a lot of attrition. There were six retirements during the Australian Grand Prix.
It was a real test of character for the 20-year-old, who finished runner-up in the Formula 2 championship last year and could have won if he hadn’t been stripped of the opportunity to compete on lap one of the title finale.
David Coulthard has heard Hadjar is quick after his first weekend in Formula 1, and he may already be proving that point during his second weekend.

Ted Kravitz spots Anthony Hamilton interaction after Isack Hadjar result at the Chinese Grand Prix
Hadjar performed excellently during the main qualifying session for the Chinese Grand Prix, beating teammate Yuki Tsunoda to line up seventh for Sunday’s race and was less than half a second behind polesitter Oscar Piastri.
With no threat of adverse weather conditions for the race, the Frenchman has a fantastic shot at securing some good points for his new team.
After being consoled in Melbourne, Ted Kravitz spotted Hadjar interacting with Anthony Hamilton again in Shanghai after his strong qualifying performance.
“There you go, there’s Hadjar just having a word with Anthony Hamilton,” he said on Sky Sports F1’s Ted’s Notebook show.
“A classy guy, said Isack Hadjar of Anthony Hamilton after he lent him a bit of emotional support in Australia of course.”

Jacques Villeneuve spotted hunting Isack Hadjar for selfie at the Chinese Grand Prix
After his debut woes, Hadjar made a promise to Racing Bulls for the rest of the 2025 season which could have an impact on their position in the constructors’ championship.
He has vowed to make fewer silly mistakes as he looks to take advantage of a car which may be at least the fifth-fastest on the grid currently.
The most important thing for him to do early in his career was prove that he has the potential and speed for a long career at the highest level.
1997 champion Jacques Villeneuve was spotted trying to get a selfie with the young Red Bull-backed star in the paddock after qualifying. Clearly, the Canadian is a fan.
Points on Sunday in China would go a long way towards making his position more secure, and maybe even indicate that he could be a potential option for the senior team in the future.
