Lewis Hamilton is struggling to adapt to his 2025 Ferrari. The seven-time champion has not driven a car that is not powered by a Mercedes engine in his F1 career.
Understandably, it will take time for the Brit to get accustomed to the setup of the car and the team’s operation. But that did not stop Ferrari fans from demanding the championship from Hamilton at the start of the season.
Many believed that the 40-year-old would be able to end the Maranello outfit’s 26-year winless streak, including himself. Christian Danner says Hamilton thought he was Ferrari’s ‘saviour’ behind the scenes, but that has come crashing down after the first six races.
Hamilton sits seventh in the standings after the Miami Grand Prix, having collected two podiums in Sprint races this season, including a win in Shanghai. However, he is yet to finish in the top three on Sunday.

Ferrari have been let down by tyre management issues and communication from the pit wall. Frederic Vasseur discussed tyre management with Hamilton after the Miami GP as the team look to resolve their issues.
Teammate Charles Leclerc grabbed the team’s only Grand Prix podium thus far in Jeddah as he established the upper hand on Hamilton. The Brit is struggling to find the feeling in the car, but Leclerc’s family member may have a solution to his woes.

Arthur Leclerc tested ‘mechanical setup solutions’ at Mugello that could have ‘the key’ to Lewis Hamilton’s success
Ferrari are working on an ‘unexpected’ suspension change after the Miami GP to mitigate their problems. They have also been running TPC tests to gather data and find further solutions.
On Wednesday, Ferrari juniors Dino Beganovic and Charles’ brother Arthur Leclerc completed a test in the SF-23 at Mugello. The pair have previously competed FP1 sessions on Grand Prix weekends, with Ferrari making history with the Leclerc brothers in Abu Dhabi in 2024.
Whilst using the TPC test to gather further mileage in F1 machinery and gain more experience, the Monegasque driver had another responsibility on his hands.
In a report by the Italian edition of Motorsport.com, Arthur Leclerc ‘looked for some mechanical setup solutions’ in the SF-23. In theory, these could be transferred to the SF-25 and find ‘the key’ for Hamilton to extract performance.
Ferrari have been desperately underwhelming considering the expectations placed upon them by pundits and fans alike. But this latest private test could present the answer to their problems.

Lewis Hamilton made a critical mistake Michael Schumacher avoided at Ferrari at the Miami Grand Prix
While Arthur Leclerc’s test could be a step in the right direction, it is clear Ferrari need to find solutions sooner rather than later. The team are already 152 points behind McLaren in the standings, and Hamilton is growing increasingly frustrated.
Ferrari were indecisive with their strategy in Miami, which prompted sarcastic radio messages from Hamilton as he was asked to make way for Charles Leclerc. It was the most discontent the Brit has been at Ferrari – a sharp contrast to his optimism at the start of the season.

Ferrari would have despised Hamilton’s messages as the team do not like people talking down about their organisation. Hamilton made a mistake Michael Schumacher avoided at Ferrari – the German never publicly criticised the team.
Martin Brundle was shocked by Hamilton as he referred to Ferrari as ‘you guys’, highlighting his frustrations. The Maranello squad must act fast to fix their woes and lift the Brit’s spirits.
