The 2025 Formula 1 season is fast approaching, with several teams ramping up their efforts ahead of the new year.
The months of January and February are all about car launches, unveiling new liveries and conducting private tests with their drivers to get them back up to speed after the winter break.
But this year, teams have been doing extensive work on track already. Lewis Hamilton conducted his first test with Ferrari on Wednesday at the team’s Fiorano Circuit.
Hamilton was one of four drivers that ran tests this week as Racing Bulls and Sauber also took to the track to give their respective drivers an outing as part of the Testing of Previous Cars regulations.
This increase in tests are because all 10 teams have agreed to launch their 2025 designs together as part of a celebratory event for the sport’s 75th anniversary.
The F1 75 event will take place at London’s O2 Arena on February 18, with all teams and drivers set to be in attendance. Max Verstappen is set to be at the event amid doubts he would not be present after he previously commented he would be sick that week.

Some F1 teams’ partners were worried their rivals would be shown straight after them at the F1 75 event
The F1 75 event is not for the teams to launch their 2025 cars, but rather their liveries.
Each of the 10 teams will have seven minutes to present themselves and their new design and they can do so in whatever way they wish.
The teams will run in order of how they finished in the Constructors’ Championship in 2024. Therefore, Sauber will go first and the event will end with champions McLaren – who won their first title in 26 years last year.

According to a report from Motorsport.com, there were some ‘wrinkles’ to iron out with the event as some teams were worried their partners would not like the method used to select the running orders for the event.
This was because the teams’ partners ‘may have a rival’s branding shown off just moments’ after they were presented, which would not ‘sit well’.
However, the report states that ‘all the squads are now very much on board’, with each of them using it to their own advantage. For Ferrari, the event will be used as Lewis Hamilton’s first public appearance as a driver for the red team.

F1 teams are beginning preparations ahead of pre-season testing in Bahrain
Alongside the F1 75 event, many teams will be hosting their own showcases for their 2025 cars. Williams will reveal their challenger on February 14, however they cannot show their new livery as that will exclusively be revealed four days later at the O2 Arena.
Red Bull will not host their own launch for the RB21, while their rivals Ferrari are set to unveil their car at Maranello the day after F1 75.
Haas have announced plans to run their 2025 car on February 16 at Silverstone as part of a filming day.
The American team are set to prioritise Esteban Ocon over Oliver Bearman for the test to avoid any last-minute ‘challenges’.
