Visa Cash App Racing Bulls will have a new line-up in 2025 as they welcome promising young rookie Isack Hadjar to their ranks.
The Frenchman finished runner-up in Formula 2 to fellow graduate and eventual champion Gabriel Bortoleto after a close title fight.
Hadjar has been told he’s similar to Pierre Gasly which is a glowing praise of his talents before he has stepped into a Racing Bulls car.
Yuki Tsunoda is set for a fifth consecutive season with the team after narrowly missing out on a promotion to Red Bull.
11-race Kiwi Liam Lawson was handed the task of pairing Max Verstappen despite having less experience and qualifying form than Tsunoda.
Hadjar faces a tough task against his Japanese teammate who will have over 100 races by the end of the season and may be on the search for another opportunity in Formula 1.

David Coulthard says Racing Bulls’ old F1 name made ‘no sense whatsoever’
‘VCARB’ as they were known in 2024 will have a new name for the upcoming campaign, it was confirmed last month.
Instead of being called Visa Cash App RB, they will go by the name Visa Cash App Racing Bulls. They get to keep the shortened ‘VCARB’ version of their name.

Speaking on the Formula For Success podcast, David Coulthard said that he never understood their original name in the first place.
“In terms of the name Racings Bulls. Well, we’ve finally landed somewhere that we can probably stick with. I saw no issue with [their names] going way back to Toro Rosso, AlphaTauri it made sense because of the clothing brand which now seems to have been parked,” he said.
“VCARB made no sense whatsoever and as someone that has had a long relationship with the brand and everyone can see what a great job they’ve done with marketing. That was a compromise too far and was never taken seriously by the paddock.”
How far can the Racing Bulls team progress in the future?
Peter Windsor believes Hadjar will be a calming influence to help Tsunoda in 2025 as he brings a calmer demeanour to the Faenza-based outfit.
Together their mission will be to lead the Racing Bulls further into the midfield, after a poor end to 2024 saw them finish eighth in the Constructors’ Championship.
It’s the final year of ruleset stability before the new regulations arrive in 2026. It will spell the best opportunity for Racing Bulls to make some big gains as the grid undergoes an effective reset.

The Italian team will adopt Red Bull’s all-new power unit for that season which will be the first time they are not supplied by Honda since 2017.
Hadjar has a one-year contract so he has to prove himself in 2025, or the team could be moving on from him at the end of his rookie campaign.
