George Russell enjoyed a bit of a messy Qatar Grand Prix, but still managed to bring home a solid haul of points with fourth.
After losing two positions on the opening lap of the race, despite starting on pole position, both Max Verstappen and Lando Norris pulled a significant gap to him.
His misery was compounded when he suffered a slow pitstop, cycling him a few positions lower than he would have liked and leaving him with more work to do.
He still had a better day than teammate Lewis Hamilton, who failed to finish in the points and was handed two penalties during the race.
The seven-time champion managed to jump the race start, then speed in the pitlane before insisting that the car was retired early.

George Russell’s car spotted playing role in F1 film
Heading into the final race of the season at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Russell is one of few drivers with nothing to fight for.
He cannot move up in the drivers’ championship, and Mercedes are in the middle of nowhere when it comes to the constructors’ battle.
Therefore, there’s a possibility that he is involved in another project which it appeared as though he may have been involved with in Qatar.

Ahead of the release of the F1 film in June 2025, the crew have been gathering plenty of footage at various race events this year.
This time, it was Russell’s turn to be involved, as Autosport’s Alex Kalinauckas spotted a ‘crew member’ working on the Silver Arrows’ onboard camera before the race.
Who will appear in the F1 film?
There’s a bit of a star-studded line-up when it comes to the F1 film, with the likes of Brad Pitt, Damson Idris and Javier Bardem involved.
Fans will have to wait until June 25 to be able to witness the spectacle in cinemas, which has been in filming for a few years now.
At the Las Vegas Grand Prix a few weeks ago, Pitt was seen filming on the grid and appeared to faint for the cameras.

Fernando Alonso managed to get confused by one of the ‘Apex GPs’ – the team that the film is centred around, cars at the Hungarian Grand Prix.
But there cannot be long to go, and with only one weekend left of the 2024 season, filming could be coming to an end pretty soon.
