Mercedes unveils special Miami GP helmets and race suits for Russell and Antonelli

Mercedes has unveiled the special helmet and race suit designs for George Russell and Andrea Kimi Antonelli ahead of the Miami Grand Prix.

The race suits feature a burgundy, pink, and silver palm tree design. Both helmets follow the same theme. Russell has opted for a predominantly pink design, whereas Antonelli has chosen a burgundy to match the race suits.

The Brackley outfit has also introduced race suits for reserve driver Valtteri Bottas and F1 Academy driver Doriane Pin.

The design has raised questions from fans who believe this could hint at a special livery design for the W16. One fan commented, “This mean all the silver accents on the car are gonna be pink?”

Addressing the race weekend ahead, team chief Toto Wolff commented in the Mercedes preview on the exciting activations surrounding the Miami Grand Prix at the Hard Rock Stadium:

“Miami is an iconic city and the whole event has become one of the set-piece races on the calendar.

“This year, we have several exciting activations including film premieres, technology forums, partner events, our own trackside hospitality offering and more, as we celebrate the roots of both Miami and the team.

“We will have a different look as part of that campaign this week as we drop our first special edition adidas collaboration.”

Wolff also noted the good start to the season but is keen to have a “more competitive showing” in Miami. He explained:

“We have had a good start to the season but we have no sense of entitlement or complacency.

“We want to continue, and build on, the positive trajectory we have established so far in the first five races.

“Saudi Arabia was a more challenging Grand Prix but, with temperatures high and the same tyre compound range as in Jeddah, we have plenty of learnings we can take into this weekend.

“We are therefore hopeful of a more competitive showing.”

He added:

“We are also looking forward to seeing Doriane on track in a bespoke Miami livery as part of F1 Academy.

“It’s going to be an action-packed weekend and we hope to make it a highlight of the 2025 season so far, on and off the track.”

On top of the race suits and helmets, Mercedes has also released the Miami 2025 merchandise collection in collaboration with its partner, Adidas.
