Sky Sports F1 reveals coverage plan ahead of 2025 season with major new addition

Sky Sports F1 has confirmed its coverage plans as the 2025 season begins with the Australian Grand Prix. With a host of talented pundits and former Formula 1 personnel and drivers, the team will continue their coverage of the sport, something the broadcasting company began in 2012 when they took over from the BBC.

With 24 races this season, the team is growing bigger with popular and successful female racing driver Jamie Chadwick joining their ranks. She will be giving expert commentary alongside the likes of former F1 World Champions Jenson Button, Nico Rosberg, and Jacques Villeneuve. Chadwick is a three-time W Series champion and 2025 European Le Mans Series pro-driver who will bring a new angle on the sport for viewers.

Joining them on screen are analysts and pundits Martin Brundle OBE, Jenson Button, Nico Rosberg, Jacques Villeneuve, Naomi Schiff, Bernie Collins, Karun Chandhok, and Anthony Davidson. Danica Patrick, who has come under fire from a handful of fans for her political beliefs, will also be returning.

Sky Sports F1 Coverage Plans

After the reveal of F1 TV’s new premium coverage, the broadcaster has quite the competition. Fortunately for Sky Sports, F1 TV isn’t available in the United Kingdom, meaning only fans of the sport with a VPN will be able to make a choice between the two.

For your comparison, here’s what Sky Sports F1 brings to the party, via a press release.

  • Onboard cameras for every driver: F1 fans are able to select an onboard live stream of any of the 20 drivers – complete with team radio messages – for every race, sprint, qualifying and practice.
  • The Grid Walk: Exclusive pre-race insights and VIP interviews from the track, approximately 30 minutes before lights out.
  • Ted’s Notebook: Returning with deep-dive analysis and the latest from the paddock with Ted Kravitz, airing post-race on Sundays.
  • The F1 Show: Get ready for more episodes of The F1 Show in 2025 where on Fridays we’ll be previewing the race ahead and bring you the latest news live from the paddock on Sky Sports F1. Then, brand new for 2025, Simon Lazenby, Bernie Collins, and Ted Kravitz will be with you on Tuesdays to break down all the action from the weekend and take on fan questions – available on YouTube or as an audio listen for fans on the go.
  • Enhanced digital presence: Continued expansion of content across Sky Sports F1 social channels and the Sky Sports.com website, including the recently launched Sky Sports F1 TikTok channel.
  • Ultra High Definition (UHD) viewing: Bringing fans the sharpest, most immersive F1 experience.

Sky Sport F1 has seen huge success as its grown alongside the sport. Since its exclusive deal in the UK started in 2019, average viewership increased by 60% with the average race viewership in 2022 hitting 1.7 million.
