Will Buxton has jokingly warned fans that he “might even drop his first F-bomb” in the seventh season of Netflix’s Drive to Survive, which is set to be released tomorrow, March 7, following in the footsteps of former Haas F1 team principal Guenther Steiner.
The former F1 TV presenter poked fun at himself as he promoted the release of the seventh instalment of the popular Formula 1 docuseries. Posting to X (formerly Twitter), Buxton commented:
“Coming tomorrow. Season 7. There’s every chance I may explain how qualifying works. And might even drop my first F bomb. Have to keep the Gunther quotient up somehow.” [sic]

Buxton recently left F1 TV for FOX Sports to serve as lead commentator for the broadcaster’s IndyCar coverage. Due to this move, the British journalist is unsure of what his future in Drive to Survive looks like. Commenting on his future with the series during an interview with The Independent, which he has been a part of since its debut in 2019, Buxton explained that he would love to continue his role despite his move to IndyCar.
“To be honest with you, I don’t know,” he explained.
“They’ve always been very careful not to show me in situ in the paddock, I’ve always just been a talking head in a room.
“So, I guess that could continue [with me] if they wanted to. I actually really hope we can, that would be lovely.

“I’m not just going to walk out of the F1 paddock and suddenly not talk to everybody that I have worked with. I’ll be back throughout the year, not on a TV screen with F1, but I’ll be going to some races.
“The fun part for me this year, ahead one of the most exciting F1 seasons in a long time, is I get to enjoy this one as a fan. That’s really exciting for me.”
Drive to Survive Season 7 will be released on Netflix on Friday, March 7. The ten-part series, covering the 2024 F1 season, is set to include some of the biggest storylines from last year, including Lewis Hamilton’s decision to move to Ferrari, Sergio Perez’s Red Bull exit, and McLaren’s journey to winning the Constructors’ Championship title.
